Today the wind blew and blew here in the Florida keys. I took my anglers to the edge of the gulf for Spanish mackerel but the waves were too hight so we fished the Bridges of Islamorada and picked away at the bigger snappers and got one nice grouper to the boat.

Islamorada fish report

The bigger redfish are starting to show upon the shallow water flats for Islamorada in the Florida Keys.
The tarpon bite has still been strong early morning on the flats and late afternoon by the bridges. The bait of choice is small crabs under a float.
That's what's been going on this week the way I see it. This is Captain Ted Benbow of www.skinsandfinscharters.com asking you to "keep it in the shallow grass"

Flats fishing: for the angler that likes to hunt for fish, the bonefish has started to pick up. Also on the flats it's redfish, snook, small tarpon, permit and sharks.
Offshore/reefs: With the warmer waters the dolphin is good and will only get better through the summer months.
Backcountry: out in the Everglades it big Sharks, sea trout. Sound the mangrove Islands we are catching snook, Resfish and black drum.

Islamorada fishing report

Treated his angler to a great bite of snook on the flats of the Florida Keys. Throwing the DOA Air head in the pearl white color proved to do the trick. Also going on this week has been large tarpon caught on live and dead mullet and crabs.
