Islamorada Fishing charters and Guides fishing Report-Skins and Fins

This the fishing forecast of the father and son team of  Well in September and October we are ready for the great snapper and trout bite! These fish really put up a great fight for there size. Lots of rod bending action! Also in the backcountry along the trees and deep holes the reds, snook, black drum and the big shark! Yes the big sharks, the bulls, black tips, nurse, and big spinners all put up a great fight! Using heavy rods and reels we put a chunk of the preferred bait on the bottom waiting for the giants to hit! Up on the flats using light tackle. We sight fish to big redfish and sook along the tree lines. In the cleaner waters the early morning and late afternoon bonefish and permit bight will be good as we'll. Even tho we don't get many in one trip they are two amazing fish to fight on the flats. We'll that's what we are looking forward to down in the keys. Want to give it a try we will be happy to set it up for you. Till then this is captain Donnie and Ted Benbow asking you to keep it in the shallow grass

Islamorada fishing Report 6/11/2013

Her we are in the middle of June already and the Tarpon are still biting good! Drifting live crabs just off the shores of Islamorada has done the trick. The average size tarpon has been over 100 LBs. Tarpon are the biggest inshore sport fish and the true test of the light tackle angler. In the backcountry the Flats fishing for Redfish is still strong and will continue through the fall. My partner/Son Captain Donnie Benbow had been catching big Reds up the 38". He will be taking deliver of his New "Hellsbay"18' boat today and I can not wait to get some bow time on this great piling Skiff.
Backcountry I have been catching big numbers of seatrout up to 24"  and redfish around the islands. We are looking for some young Anglers for the Redgost stalk tournament, so if you have a young angler that loves to fish, send him our way.
If you get a chance, check the new fishing show filmed out of the Bud and Mary's Marina call "Reel Rivals" it's on every Tuesday night at 9:00 on the Weather Channel.
Well that's what's going on the way we see it, till next time this is Captain Red Benbow of asking you to " Keep it in the Shallow Grass"

Islamorada fishing report

Capt Ted and Capt Donnie Benbow of Skins and Fins Charter and Guides fish out the Post Card Inn in Islamorada has a great day of Spotted Sea Trout off of Islamorada. On a two boat trips for a half day they caught and released over 100 trout from 2-5 LBs. with the waters warming up around the shores if the Florida Keys the tarpon fishing is sure to turn on. Live baiting on the sunset trip is the must productive way to catch big tarpon. In the morning site fishing Guides take the anglers up on the flats for laid up tarpon. Throwing spin or the fly rod is a great way to fish for the hunter at heart, if you can sit in a tree stand all day and wait of a Deer to past by, this is the trip for you.
Offshore/deep sea, the big boats are starting to catch nice sized Dolphin, don't forget to tip your professional Mate's, they work long hours so you have a great day in the water. Till next time, "Keep it in the shallow grass"
