Key largo Red fishing, Florida Keys

It's a great time to be in the Florida Keys, Islamorada and Key Largo, it has been a mild winter so far and the fishing has been hot!! My son and partner Capt Donnie Benbow has been spending his time up on the shallow flats of key largo site casting plastics and spoons at big Redfish. These great fish are running 26 to 30" and put up a great fight on light tackle. Great work Son!! In the backcountry the big female Spotted Sea trout are showing up in the channels, some up to 5 LBs. Due to the mild winter we are also seeing the Tarpon move in, as soon as the water temp reaches 80 degrees, the bite will be on! Want to give it a try, give us a call, till then this Capt Ted Benbow asking you to "Keep it in the Shallow Grass"

islamorada Tarpon Fishing

Hello once again from the "Sportsfishing Capital of the World" Islamorada, Key Largo and the Florida Keys fishing. Well the waters out in the Gulf have cooled down a bit and the Spanish Mackerel run continues heat up. on a average four hour Charter nets up to 30 of these great fighting fish about 24 to 36" in size, we are also catching Pompano, Spinner Sharks and Spotted Seatrout too. In Flamingo in the Everglades National Park the Redfishing has really turned on, they have been hanging around in the channels and run offs. These great fighting fish are waiting to ambush baits coming through and trying to keep warm in the deeper water. Out on the shallow patch reefs there has been Yellowtail snapper, Grouper, Hogfish and Big Sharks and the Offshore/Deepsea Charter boats are catching the Big Sailfish. My partner and Son Captain Donnie Benbow has been spending a lot of time up on the flats pitching shrimp and Fly's at Bonefish and Redfish, it been a great way to spend the afternoon and I have been lucky enough to get my time on the bow of his boat doing a little recon with Donnie.
Captain Donnie and I have moved our Business/Boats ( The Bud Light Boats) to the newly re modeled Holiday Isle Resort and Marine, where they have just spent over 11 Million dollars in re doing the rooms, beaches, pools and landscape. The resort wants to become a more family place and my guest that have stayed there in the past month were happy with the results and they also like that if they booked a fishing trip with us, Holiday Isle gives them a 15-20% discount on their room rates.
Reminder: The spring Tarpon migration is on my Anglers minds and Captain Donnie and I are starting to fill our spring calendar up with trips to go after Monster Tarpon, now is the time to start planning your dream trip after these greatest inshore Sport fish there is!!.
Well that is what's been going on here in the Florida Keys. Want to get out on the water, give me a call or check out up dated daily photo's on my website. Till then this Captain Ted Benbow and Captain Donnie Benbow asking you to "Keep it in the Shallow Grass" 305-393-0363
